Black Velvet Cloak

Soft, dark fabric, rich with time
Glittering, sparkling stars for buttons
That have been the reason for many a rhyme
It wears a large brooch no mortal could wear
On this wispy, glorious, cloak a dazzling gem beyond compare
Satin & silk, its black velvet looks better than them even when worn
Wrinkled, yet still lustrous, after storms it is still ever light
This wistful, magnificent velvet
Can it really be fully described? you ask
Yes, I say, and that word is night.
