| The
Water
I feel just like a new man
after a nice clean shave,
water, warm and steamy,
keeps my whiskers warm and wavy
for another pass of the razor blade.
The next thing on my mind,
a nice shower for an hour
warm and soapy, clean again,
rinsing out grease and dour.
I suppose I'd wash the dishes,
laid on a soft, just washed towel,
to run that water for awhile,
enjoying soapy fun.
If it were not for my socks,
I probably wouldn't bother
washing clothes at all,
not my favorite chore.
That is what I'd like to do
once the water is turned on, again,
if lights were off, I still could see
with candles lit, but to lose the water...
Oh, to lose the water, how damned awful
is the morning crapper.
